Australia Day Celebrations
Australia day falls every year on
January 26th and is celebrated across the whole of Australia. It’s a
day of national celebrations where all the Australians get together and
celebrate this day with plenty of small and large events taking place across
the harbour. Dress up in Aussie colours – by using clothes, face paints,
umbrellas, caps, slippers, tattoos, jewellery etc. and be a part of the Australia
Day.
There are many ways to celebrate the Australia
Day, as you can catch up with family and friends. Celebrate it the way you want
to, either by participating in any event or witnessing the events or just
having a pool, beach party or a barbeque party at home. Cook something special
on Australia Day with some Lamingtons, Pavlova, koala shaped biscuits and meat
pies or bake a cake in the shape of Australia. For children come out with craft
items like platypus masks, koala stuffed toys, kangaroo cutouts which reflect
Australian themes. Play it, watch it and enjoy some live cricket and tennis for
the sport lovers. As for charity, donate funds or give gifts or sell at craft
stalls to make the most of that day.
Australia Day Celebrations normally start
off with hoisting the flag, singing the national anthem and many other
ceremonies. In certain parts of Australia, there are ceremonies to welcome the immigrants
and their citizenship ceremonies are granted in a festive atmosphere.
It’s a day where they celebrate with community
breakfasts, beach parties, parades, pageants, sporting events, concerts and
fireworks displays. Be on the Sydney Harbour, on Australia Day as thousands
come to witness the various celebrations. But the best way to enjoy the day is
to be on any one of the cruises.
